When my husband and I started to pay off our debt we created a budget to help keep track of our monthly expenses and to know exactly how much we were spending and where exactly our money was going. By creating a budget we saw just how much we could actually live off of and how much extra we could put towards paying off our debt. I have created a Free 12 Month Budget Binder Printable to help anyone with their finances whether you want to pay off your debt or just keep track of your spending.
The first couple of pages of the 12 Month Budget Binder Printable is for creating and establishing your monthly financial goals. It can be a place to write your short term or long terms financial goals.
The monthly expense tracker sheet is where you can create a budgeted amount for each of your expenses along with the actual amount that you spent for each expense. There is also an area where you can keep track of the difference between your budgeted amount and your actual amount spent to know if you need to make adjustments to your budget. There is also a date due column and a spot to place a checkmark by for each expense to help keep track of what expenses have been paid and what expenses have not been paid yet.
There is also an extra notes page for each month if you wanted to keep track of your daily expenses or any other notes for yourself for the month such as any debt that you wanted to pay down or monthly goals that you may have set for yourself.
At the end of the month re-evaluate your budget and see if you need to make any adjustments to it. If you had set monthly goals for yourself, were you able to meet them? If possible, look for different ways to reduce your monthly expenses each month.
